The Minnesota Digital Library (MDL) is pleased to announce the addition of three new digitized historic films from the Carver County Historical Society. One video provides a narrated drive through of the Hamburg Centennial Parade, another records a conversation about the historic Thompson Ferry on the Minnesota River, and the third features film clips of the happenings at Nightingale Nursing Home in Waconia. Previously, these videos were fairly inaccessible due to their age, format, and fragility, but now they are accessible to anyone who visits our website.
MDL is particularly excited about this new collection because Carver County was one that had not yet contributed to our statewide digital repository. Not only is the Carver County Historical Society a brand-new contributor, they also help us “fill in the map” as part of our quest to represent all 87 counties in Minnesota.
