The Minnesota Digital Library is excited to announce the addition of a new contributing organization to our collection. The Lake City Historical Society has shared a series of oral histories interviews that discuss the history of the area. Topics include pearl button manufacture in Lake City, fishing, foundry work, snowmobile trails, and much more. 

The mission of the Lake City Historical Society (LCHS) is to collect, preserve, and disseminate knowledge about the history of Lake City, Minnesota. Lake City is located along the Mississippi River at Lake Pepin and is the birthplace of water skiing. LCHS maintains a collection of artifacts, documents and photographs, and has exhibit cases in the historic hall (ballroom) on the second floor of City Hall in Lake City.
