Timelines can help people understand how historical events relate to each other. They provide a visual framework that organizes facts about people, places, and events in an easy-to-read linear format. Learning history through timelines also makes it easier to see change happen over time.
The Minnesota Digital Library has created a two-part timeline on Minnesota history featuring materials from our digital collections. These timelines explore significant moments in the history and development of the state. We encourage you to learn how local history connects with major world events through the Minnesota History: Part 1 (prehistory to 1900) and Minnesota History: Part 2 (1900 to 2020) timelines.
Find these and more in the growing collection of timelines on our project page today!
