The Minnesota Digital Library is pleased to announce an additional contribution to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum's collection in Minnesota Reflections. This new contribution increases the Museum's collection by more than 33%. Included in their recent project is a series of architectural drawings related to the construction of the Union Depot in Duluth. Today the train station is home to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum.

The Lake Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth, Minnesota is housed in the Historic Union Depot which was constructed in 1892. The museum has 6 tracks inside the building showcasing an extensive collection of locomotives and train cars. Along with the trains on display inside the museum is Depot Square, a recreation of Duluth's downtown in 1910. The mission and exhibit principals are to provide, through permanent and changing exhibits, an insight into the history of the region and to develop an understanding and appreciation of railroading. That is done through an extensive collection of rolling stock, railroad archives, objects, books, and photographs. The images contributed to Minnesota Reflections show all aspects of railroading in the region, and helps to show the significance of railroading in the past and the present.
