We are always pleased to announce the addition of new contributors to Minnesota Reflections. Today we welcome a series of historic documents from the Calhoun Yacht Club. These booklets, yearbooks, and correspondence capture both the history of the club and sailing activity on Lake Calhoun.
The Calhoun Yacht Club is located on the shores of Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It has been in operation since August 10, 1901. The purpose of the Club is to promote sailing, yacht racing, ice-boating, and social events. The Calhoun Yacht Club is a member of the Inland Lake Yachting Association, the United States Yacht Racing Union, the U.S. Laser Sailing Association and Inter-Lake Yachting Association. Located on the shores of Lake Calhoun in the "City of Lakes," the Calhoun Yacht Club has aided the development of the sport of sailing in Minnesota and the United States.
