Body

As I look back on my first full year with the Minnesota Digital Library, I am struck yet again by the richness of resources held in collections all across our state. From Esko to Walnut Grove and everywhere in-between, the cultural heritage organizations of Minnesota, from small to large, have treasures that they have preserved and cared for that deserve more exposure. And it is a great joy to be a part of a project that helps to make these unique treasures become more accessible. I have relished the opportunity to meet so many of the dedicated and passionate people who have taken on the task of caring for their community’s history and look forward to doing more of this in the years to come.

Looking forward, one of the things I think will be most exciting in 2016 and the years to come is the ability to do more with digitized resources, whether it be for things like online exhibits, primary source sets, or just for fun, like animated GIFs. Digitization makes so many wonderful things available, and the ability to learn and play and use them in new ways will be exhilarating.
