Body

Does your collection have videotapes? This workshop presents a thoughtful process for reformatting analog videotape collections to ensure long term access to content. Digitization means more than simply selecting a destination file format. It requires a series of decisions that determine the long term viability of your valuable video content. You'll learn: digitization decision making; basic digital file creation; preservation and access file formats and codecs; software for file creation and playback; storage options; and workflows for digitization. In addition, you'll examine case studies of small and large-scale digitization projects in order to understand real-world applications of the principles introduced. Jeff Martin, former Executive Director of Independent Media Arts Preservation, will teach this one-day workshop.
