Quick Summary
This month, we’re sharing all of the great resources available in ELM, Ebooks Minnesota, and MDL that feature step-by-step guides for arts and crafts, academic research on the arts, and the history of the arts in Minnesota.

March is a great time for getting creative and tapping into your students' artistic side! Read ahead to uncover the many ways that you can share the arts and crafting with this month's Resource Pack. The March pack includes a variety of engaging resources from eLibraryMN, Ebooks Minnesota, and Minnesota Digital Library about how to create art, how to study art, and how to learn about the artisans of Minnesota. The pack provides educators with a mix of academic article databases, ebooks, and primary sources for students of all ages to enjoy.
For younger students, access printable, shareable, colorful activities from Humpty Dumpty Magazine to help them Build a Book, Draw, and Cut and Play, or take them to PebbleGo to learn about biographies of famous artists. And when they are ready to start researching ideas on their own, EBSCO Explora's Hobbies and Crafts area will get them started with endless ideas.
As students progress into middle and high school, the focus can shift to more specialized art research and guidance. Use the EBSCO Explora Visual Arts portal as a place to start their studies. Don't forget the EBSCO has many ebooks that can be read online, as well. While the download feature limits books to one user, browsing and reading online has unlimited use. Find books on pottery, crafting, and more by searching for your interests. Finally, for scholarly searching on subjects such as art history and art therapy, use Academic Search Premier as your go-to for peer reviewed research.
For the best ebook experience, check out Ebooks Minnesota. Featuring more how-to-create titles like Awesome Craft Stick Science or Big Book of Building: duct tape, paper, cardboard, and recycled projects to blast away boredom for younger students, on up to titles like Cubism and Picasso for the older crowd, reading Ebooks Minnesota titles in the MackinVIA app is a great and safe ebook experience. Contact us today if you have not yet set up your local instance of MackinVIA to access Ebooks Minnesota titles for your school.
