Body

Last year's Shared Digital Collection for Schools provided access to nearly 1,000 elementary ebooks, 325 middle school ebooks and audiobooks, and 260 high school ebooks and audiobooks.*

What is it? The consortium will be a shared digital collection of high-interest ebooks and audiobooks for K-12 schools anywhere in Minnesota. While Ebooks Minnesota provides free, statewide access to an impressive collection of ebooks relevant to all Minnesotans, its funding is insufficient to provide statewide access to many high-interest titles.

Schools will have the opportunity, annually, to sign up to be a member of the consortium. The school's membership price will be determined by its enrollment. Funds will be collected in three accounts for purchasing elementary, middle, and high school content, based upon the grade level(s) selected when a school enrolls. All purchased content will be single-user, accessed through the member schools' free MackinVIA accounts (a free account will be created if necessary).

*Each year's purchases are dependent upon the number of participating schools.
