Latin Art in Minnesota: Conversations and What's Next, by William G. Franklin, offers a richly illustrated exploration of Latin American origin artists working in Minnesota. It combines interviews, images of artworks, and commentary on identity, migration, and cultural presence. The book profiles 12 artists based in Minnesota whose origins span Mexico, Cuba, Chile, Venezuela, and Tejana/Chicana cultures. Each artist is interviewed in a conversational format by other Latino/Latinx leaders, curators, or activists in Minnesota. The artworks span multimedia, including sculpture, painting, photography, ceramics, film, murals, installations, and performance.

The book engages with how Latin American artists in Minnesota navigate the intersections of immigration, cultural tradition, diaspora, identity, belonging, and how they locate themselves within the regional (Minnesota) art ecosystem. The "What's Next" in the subtitle suggests a forward-looking dimension by documenting what has been, while pointing toward future possibilities for Latin American art and artists in Minnesota.

Latin Art in Minnesota helps to surface the presence and contributions of Latin American artists in the region and provides primary material with artists in their own voices. It offers both breadth and depth as it visually documents work across multiple media and generations of artists.
