Occasionally stymied by our own questions as we work with E-Resource Licensing, and inspired by Thirteen ways of looking at a license, published by Nat Gustafson-Sundell, Evan Rusch, and Pat Lienemann at Minnesota State University, Mankato, Minitex and ERMN would like to get e-resource minded folks together for some casual licensing learning over the course of the upcoming year.

Here are some things to know:

  • The purpose of the series is to gather librarians who work with e-resource licensing to hear their colleagues share expertise on specific sections of a license and aspects of license negotiation in a quick, easy to digest format
  • Sessions will be online, 12PM CST, 30 minutes in length, once per month
  • There will be no cost, sessions are open to any librarian interested in the topic, but registration is required
  • Sessions will consist of a 15-20 minute presentation on a specific aspect of e-resource licensing, with 10 minutes left for questions. If there is robust conversation occurring, no need to end early, but no pressure to stay
  • Our goal is to have session titles that we can fit into the word ‘LICENSE’.  It was a little challenging to schedule things in order, but we assure you all letters will be covered.

Dates and Topics are as follows:

  • Oct 18, 2023 ‘S’ Nat Gustafson-Sundell: Site and Transfer Obligations
