ProQuest is pleased to welcome Ebook Library (EBL) to the family! On May 13, 2013, the agreement announced in January was finalized, completing the acquisition of EBL and significantly expanding our e-book delivery and aggregation capabilities to libraries globally. By combining the complementary strengths of EBL and ebrary, we will create the best possible research experience, connecting e-books with the vast array of other content and services offered by ProQuest. This supports our goal of enabling researchers to seamlessly discover content across multiple formats including books, journals, dissertations, newspapers, and video.
Kari Paulson, President of EBL, has joined ProQuest as the Vice President and General Manager of the combined e-book business unit and will lead the effort to integrate the best of ebrary and EBL onto one optimized platform. Kari will report to Kevin Sayar, Senior Vice President of Workflow Solutions. In addition, Kari's current team has also joined ProQuest and will play a critical, ongoing role in combining the best aspects of both companies.
We will communicate with you regularly regarding the platform integration and will inform you well ahead of any critical changes that affect communication or workflow. As we work toward creating an even better e-book solution for you and your end-users, we will be soliciting feedback through focus groups, surveys, and webinars. If you would like to receive more regular updates on the progress of platform convergence, please sign up for our distribution list by clicking here.
In the meantime, please continue working with your current EBL and/or ProQuest sales representative and ordering e-books on your EBL and/or ebrary platform(s). Order fulfillment will not be disrupted.
