The new interface for VAST: Academic Video Online is now live. The new functionality is more intuitive, the multidisciplinary content loads and plays faster than ever before, and the powerful teaching, learning, and research tools offer unprecedented ways to explore, share, and connect with information.

Throughout the next few months, Alexander Street Press will migrate all of their collections onto this new interface. More information can be found in FAQ documents and video tutorials.

Alexander Street Press is also offering free access to VAST through September; sign up for a trial or contact Susan Buczkowski for an IP-based trial.

What's New in VAST?
VAST is a 360-degree learning experience, designed from the ground up to empower scholarship and collaboration. We just added lots of new features to the VAST interface that make teaching, sharing, and discovery even easier. Some of the highlights:

  • Semantic Facet Browsing. Functionality so clever, it teaches while you search.

  • Discipline Pages. Check out new content, popular playlists, and helpful tools all on one page.

  • Striking Video Quality. Stream titles at up to HD quality with a bit rate that automatically adjusts to your bandwidth.

  • Clipping and Sharing. Make a video clip with one click, slide it seamlessly into your LMS or syllabus, and share it with your colleagues, students, or the world.

  • Citation Exporter. Export and share accurate citations in APA, Chicago, and MLA instantly.

  • Library Admin Goodies. 24-hour usage stats, COUNTER4 and SUSHI compliance, and--if we may be so bold--happy patrons.
