This position will work on two design collections. Under supervision of the staff, the Archives Processing Assistant will work with the team following departmental specifications and professional standards to describe, digitize, and make accessible these collections. The Processing Assistant will manage a digitization project, conduct a survey of an unprocessed collection, and assist with the standards-based collection guide through the use of the archives information management tool, ArchivesSpace.

Responsibilities

  • Collection digitization project (50%)
  • Survey unprocessed collection (25%)
  • Contribute to discoverability through collection management (25%)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and related experience; or a combination of related education and work experience
  • Attention to detail in an environment with repetitive tasks such as data entry or re-filing with consistent accuracy
  • Work on-site between Monday-Friday

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with architectural drawings and/or architectural archives
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from a variety of communities and cultures
