Overview

The State Archivist and Records Administrator provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the division; establishes standards and priorities for the division; oversees the scheduling of state and local government records; collaborates with agency administration on legal issues related to public records including replevin efforts; oversees all public services for the division; promotes the work of the division in a variety of mediums; manages all grant, appropriated, and receipts based funds for the division, including oversight and strategic use of the Archives and Records Management (ARM) funds based on departmental priorities; serves as deputy coordinator for the State Historical Records Advisory Board (SHRAB); collaborates with the Friends of the Archives, a support group for the division, including serving on the board; engages key stakeholders within the department, state and local government and appropriate national government and non-profit groups to further the mission and goals of the division; and partners with professional organizations statewide and nationally to promote best practices and standards for the management of government records.
