Quick Summary
The library community offers valuable tools to Minnesota's independent authors, including Pressbooks, the Indie Author Project, and Biblioboard. These services were formerly branded together under the "MN Writes MN Reads" moniker.

As of Friday, March 28, 2025, the branded platform, MN Writes MN Reads, is being retired. Its three primary components will remain available to all Minnesota libraries:
- Pressbooks, which provides online publishing tools for independent authors
- Indie Author Project, which allows authors to submit their work for inclusion
- Biblioboard, which provides readers free access to independently published work
The MN Writes MN Reads website will be taken down March 28, so please be sure to use direct links to the three components above. For examples of how to feature these services on a library website, see Anoka County Library's "Author Tools and Resources," "Resources & Databases," and "eLibrary" webpages. Additional images and marketing resources are available on the BiblioBoard Marketing page.
Thanks to everyone serving on the MN Writes MN Reads operation team and all the library staff who continue to promote these valuable services to our community!
Note on the Minnesota Author Project
The related, but distinct, Minnesota Author Project and Minnesota Author Project: Communities Create will continue to exist as an annual contest, utilizing the Indie Author Project and BiblioBoard tools. Submissions will be open April 1-May 31, 2025.
