Quick Summary
Though the MN Writes MN Reads brand is being retired, its component services to Minnesota libraries will remain. The brand is slated to be retired by March 28.

MN Writes MN Reads is a statewide program jointly operated by CRPLSA and Minitex that invites writers and readers to "Create, Share, and Read."
CRPLSA's role is to fund the contract with Bibliolabs/Lyrasis that supports the Biblioboard discovery platform for works by independent Minnesota authors. It is Minitex's responsibility to fund the Pressbooks publishing platform and to convene an Operations Group for the project.
Last November, citing confusion over the program's branding, the Operations Group decided unanimously to retire the MN Writes MN Reads brand. The program's main components are Minitex’s statewide Pressbooks subscription and two collections ("Indie Minnesota" and "Indie Author Project Select") on Bibliolabs' discovery platform, BiblioBoard. These will remain after the MN Writes MN Reads brand is retired.
A task force of the Operations Group (Zach Miller, Carol Jackson, and Sarah Hawkins) was tasked with creating a plan to manage the transition. The task force's plan calls for the transition to be complete by March 28. Watch this space for further updates.
