Quick Summary
Discuss with colleagues the role of libraries in promoting, cataloging, and storing open resources created by faculty and other authors. Librarians at Minnesota State Universities in Mankato and Moorhead will share their experiences, after which participants are encouraged to share their experiences and questions in a group discussion.

Minnesota State has been a leader in using Open Educational Resources and Affordable Content in their support of the student Z-Degree. MNPals supports this work among its members, and is facilitating Community of Practice meetings for librarians working on OER/Affordable initiatives. Our next Community of Practice will address the role of libraries in promoting, cataloging, and storing open resources created by faculty and other authors. We’ll hear briefly from librarians at Minnesota State Universities in Mankato and Moorhead about what they are doing. Please bring your own experiences in this area to share, or bring your questions if your library has not yet encountered authors who want to store open content. We can address other open and affordable content issues as time allows. Join us for a great discussion.
All Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota librarians are invited to attend. In the spirit of all things open, you do not need to be a part of Minnesota State or MNPals to participate. Join us to discuss this exciting and emerging field.
