Primary Function

The University of Minnesota Libraries’ Safety and Security Program Manager directs safety and security programs and related activities, ensuring compliance with government and University policies, directives and procedures; develops and directs Libraries safety and security strategy; oversees the implementation of security efforts; enhances security and creates opportunity through risk control; and trains and coordinates the security-related activities of stakeholders. The classification for the position is Campus Operations - Specialist 1 - Security/Enforcement (9731SE). This position reports to the Libraries Director of Finance and Facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS plus at least six years of experience leading and or coordinating security efforts
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to clearly communicate key messages verbally and in writing
  • Ability to develop structure, advance execution, and measure performance with various projects and environments
  • Experience working with and assisting community members and staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a library
  • Experience working in a large complex organization.
