Primary Function

This position provides advanced digitization services for the Digital Library Services unit working on a number of digitization projects. This work is done under the direction and supervision of DLS staff.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare various physical formats for digitization including cross-referencing, correcting and/or creating inventory spreadsheets with particular emphasis on audiovisual material.
  • Digitize print and text-based materials using various scanning equipment.
  • Prepare material for shipping to external vendors.
  • Handle post-scan administrative processes such as quality control review, editing, renaming, and file delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and also collaborate as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience handling archival, special collections, and other fragile materials.
  • Familiarity with audiovisual formats in archival settings.
  • Experience or familiarity working with different types of scanning equipment in a production environment.
  • Experience or familiarity with photo editing software.

More information

This is a part-time, temporary position. The base pay is $17.50/hour.
