The 2023 legislative session resulted in the enactment of several new laws that were decades in the making. The new laws include the right to vote for those with felony convictions, automatic voter registration, pre-registration for 16- and 17-year-olds, ongoing absentee ballots, and support for voters who do not speak English as their first language. These laws expand and protect democracy in Minnesota and are nonpartisan in origin and effect.

Join Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon and Voter Outreach Director Melanie Hazelip at noon on Wednesday, August 9, to learn more about the changes, and the role libraries and library staff can have in supporting Minnesota's elections. Register today.
