Quick Summary

The next installment of Minitex Conversations: Project Management is Wednesday, May 17, at 10 a.m. In this session, we will learn more about visual thinking tools, then open the session for a broader conversation about current work.

I'm Thinking
Body

According to molecular biologist Dr. John Medina, there are more neurons in the human brain dedicated to vision than the other four senses (touch, smell, hearing, and taste) combined. Most humans think visually. Visual thinking is the act of visualizing a thought process. In project management practices it is encouraged for this to be a facilitated group-based activity. Visual thinking tools help in guiding the idea-development process and discussion among project team members. We will highlight some visual thinking tools then open the session for a broader discussion of current work.

Each project management conversation will provide a short overview of a specific concept, method, skill, or technique that can be applied to a variety of projects, followed by time for an interactive discussion of current work. These open office hours are designed to be a space for learning opportunities, community discussion, and sharing of ideas and practices in how to manage any library project. You can join at any time during the hour, but registration is required. Visit the event listing to register for the May 17th session.
