Description

In this session, participants will get an overview of the security threats that libraries and other cultural institutions are currently facing. They will be introduced to tools and techniques - from freely available software to concepts to watch out for in contracts - that will help them keep their organization safe, no matter what their role in that organization. Participants will also get a chance to evaluate disaster and business continuity plans that their organization might have in place and learn best practices for each kind of plan in order to improve them. Finally, participants will be able to consider their organization's culture and determine ways to influence it. With that in mind,  patron privacy and organizational security is something anyone, in any role in the organization, can do.
