She is currently a visiting professor at Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications. Penelope is a former executive with The New York Times and Wall Street Journal and has over 30 years experience in preserving quality journalism by helping news organizations succeed economically in the digital environment. She recently authored, News Deserts and Ghost Newspapers: Will Local News Survive?, a report that documents the state of local journalism.
