Body

We, Community of Interest Co-chairs--Shane Nackerud at the University of Minnesota and Anne Hatinen at Minitex--will be hosting the first/inaugural COI meeting on Thursday, May 4, 3-4pm. Please email Anne Hatinen and Shane Nackerud if you are interested in joining us; we’ll send out the webinar details in mid-April.

The purpose of Pressbooks/Academic Library Publishing COI is to explore, discuss, and learn from each other about the use of Pressbooks to support academic library publishing. The COI is forming now and already includes representatives from a number of different academic institutions in Minnesota (from large public universities to private liberal arts colleges) and is open for anyone to join. We’ll spend this first meeting on the basics: on what Pressbooks is (and isn’t); on the goal, outcomes, and responsibilities of the COI (you can check out our draft in the Pressbooks COI Roles & Responsibilities document); and on the logistics of future meetings.  Whether you’re experienced in library publishing or Pressbooks, or just considering the potential for your library, please join the COI. The more we can each share our experiences, and ideas, and questions – the better we’ll all be positioned to support publishing efforts on our campuses and in our communities
