Pokemon Go exploded last week and has taken over the smartphones of the young and old alike. I walk down the street and I can tell if someone is playing Pokemon Go on their phone by that hunched-over-glued-to-their-phone stare (while walking)! I wonder how many Pokemon Go-related emergency rooms visits there have been in the last 6 days.

Pokemon Go and fans are everywhere and they're coming into the libraries! GalaxyBookJockey posted this article: Everything Librarians Need To Know About Pokemon Go, that gives great advice to public and academic libraries thinking of ways to capture pocket monsters and patrons alike. Erin Washington, Spartanburg Methodist College, posted information on ALA's Information Literacy Instruction listserv about their LibraryGo project that uses Aurasma Studio's augmented reality tool to create a library scavenger hunt and guides to introduce students to the library. Perfect timing! It engages the student in a fun and timely adventure about the library.

I wonder what will happen at campuses in the Fall with everyone on Pokemon Go. Perhaps the fever will have subsided by then, or not.
