Recently, the Harvard Gazette highlighted a new digital project launched earlier this month.  Harvard University Library has provided public access to their ongoing, digital, multi-year Colonial North American Project.  Currently, the project includes 150,000 images of 17th and 18th century documents, diaries, journals and more.  These documents provide the researcher with a look into the daily life of North American colonists.  In addition to their daily lives, these colonial writings also include topics such as slavery, Native Americans, education, science, and revolution.   Many of these writings also include illustrations.  With one-third of the collection complete, there are 300,000 more items to be digitized.  The Colonial North American Project at Harvard University will have a great impact on future research.
