Body

The University of Minnesota Libraries and DASH (dash.umn.edu) are offering a free four-part online workshop to introduce fundamentals of data and computing skills to people working in libraries (and library students) over the course of four Thursday mornings: Nov 12, Nov 19, Dec 3, and Dec 10. The goal of these workshops is to empower library staff to use computation and data in their own work and to be advocates for efficient, effective and reproducible data and software practices. Specifically, these lessons include an introduction to working with data, the Unix Shell, OpenRefine, and Git/GitHub. No previous experience is required, but please only register if you can commit to attend all four sessions since registration will be limited.
