Learning in libraries was the focus of a recent meeting of "thought" leaders who discussed aspects of learning in libraries including digital literacy, workforce development and adult education, and early learning. The summary of this meeting, a report put together by OCLC Research, offers insights into prominent themes and issues highlighted by those present. The following four main themes came to light throughout the day:
1. Connect LIS education and professional development to 21st century librarianship
2. Conduct relevant research on learning in libraries that both informs, and is informed by, practice
3. Design participatory learning programs that demonstrate innovation and scalability
4. Develop cross-disciplinary collaborations that advance library services nationwide
