The Gale Family Library contains an amazing array of sources for researching one’s family history. This webinar, presented by Brigid Shields, will highlight the variety of family history related materials and unique collections that can be found at the Library. For example: naturalization, birth/death/marriage, government records, state hospital records, Minnesota newspapers, local/county histories, family histories/papers and more.

You’ll also get tips on getting started on your research at the Library, the Library’s catalogs/databases, and how to access the materials that are here.

Brigid Shields, has been a librarian with MNHS for many years.  She began her career working with the newspaper collection and has a MA in Library Science.  Brigid has been active with genealogy groups and has spoken at many family history conferences and groups throughout her career.  She has also been involved with library and archival professional organizations. She enjoys working with family history researchers and helping them connect with their past.
