MNLINK utilizes OCLC's WorldCat Discovery to initiate requests and access online content. The OCLC Community Center has more information about WorldCat Discovery.
The May 2017 release for WorldCat Discovery has some improvements in the request process for the new MNLINK program. Requests should now have the material format set properly from the bibliographic record selected, instead of having the generic monograph for all loans.
OCLC will discontinue its support and testing of Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 9 and 10 with its WorldCat Discovery and WorldShare applications beginning July 1, 2016.
Work is moving forward on the MnLINK Gateway’s replacement with WorldCat Discovery for end user searching and requesting. WorldCat Discovery allows for more relevant search results returned for users.
We continue to work toward an implementation of the OCLC WorldCat Discovery platform. To date, we have held five webinars for libraries interested in the OCLC Batchload/Reclamation offer available through the recently negotiated MnLINK contract. We are expecting to move to the new discovery platform by July 2016.
