The library community offers valuable tools to Minnesota's independent authors, including Pressbooks, the Indie Author Project, and Biblioboard. These services were formerly branded together under the "MN Writes MN Reads" moniker.

Time is running out for entries in Minnesota's statewide author contest
The Minnesota Author Project is a library-supported contest for self-published authors and community groups. The contest is accepting submissions for this year's prizes through May 31. Winners receive a $2,000 cash prize and their books are featured in an online collection and promoted in Library Journal and at Minnesota Libraries.

Sarah Hanley wins 2019 Minnesota Author Project prize in Adult Fiction
Sarah Hanley has been awarded this year’s Minnesota Author Project prize in Adult Fiction for her novel, "Matka." The prize was announced on September 19 at the Minnesota Library Association Annual Conference at Mystic Lake Casino.
