Registration open for Minitex Connect, featuring keynote Sebastian Hammer
Minitex Connect 2024 will be held May 14 at Hennepin Technical College in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The theme is "Resource Sharing and the New MNLINK." This year's keynote address will be given by Index Data President and Co-Founder Sebastian Hammer. The cost to attend is $40, and registration closes May 6.

Minnesota libraries cooperate to preserve 500,000 books for future generations
The Minnesota Shared Print Program is the effort of 24 academic libraries from across Minnesota. Each participating library has agreed to retain books in their collection deemed an important part of the scholarly record that are in demand but scarcely available within Minnesota or elsewhere in the United States. The program was administered and paid for by Minitex, a division of the University of Minnesota Libraries directly funded by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education.

Spring digital preservation course offered: Managing Digital Content Over Time
While many of the traditional resources found in libraries, archives, museums, and other cultural heritage organizations--books, photographs, objects--can survive for years with no intervention, digital content is much more fragile. Managing it requires ongoing care and preservation activities to ensure continued access far into the future. Join Carol Kussmann (University of Minnesota Libraries) and Sara Ring (Minitex) as they present this 3-part virtual course in April.

23 Linked Data Things project complete
The 23 Linked Data Things project team is delighted to announce the completion of our free, self-paced online learning project, with the publication of Thing 23: Reflections on the Future of Linked Data. This lesson shares our thoughts on the future of linked data in libraries and archives, and highlights some exciting new projects. We'd like to thank everyone who has participated and encourage you to keep sharing the project with colleagues.

Register today: Parliamentary Procedure for Libraries
Minitex and MLA are partnering to present this four-part series to give library staff the knowledge they need to do a better job running meetings, as well as participating in them. Professional Registered Parliamentarian Pat Reymann is leading the series. The final two sessions will take place on November 22 and December 6. Registration is free. Recordings are available for past sessions.

Minitex Technical Services Symposium: Full program available and register for free!
The registration fee for the 2023 Minitex Technical Services Symposium will be covered by Library Services and Technology Act funds. We're also pleased to announce the full program is now available. There will be 8 breakout sessions along with a keynote presentation that delves into the Symposium theme: Creating a Sustainable Future in Technical Services.

MDL staff traveled to Pipestone, MN to host the second of two regional meetings. They also visited a number of county historical societies in the region.
