A voice for every library: Minitex's Policy Advisory Council

Representatives from every type of library and every Minnesota region, along with one representative each from North Dakota and South Dakota, come together to form the Minitex Policy Advisory Council. The Council is designed to shape Minitex services and plan for the future of the library community.

Remembering Bill Asp

Minitex staff were saddened this week to learn of the passing of Bill Asp, a beloved champion of Minnesota libraries. Asp directed Minnesota's State Library Agency and served on the Minitex Policy Advisory Council for over 20 years. In 2010, he recorded an interview for the Minitex Oral History Project that is now available in the Minnesota Digital Library.

Third Chapter of Statewide One Book Program Features Louise Erdrich

The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library, as the Minnesota Center for the Book, announces the third chapter of One Book | One Minnesota. The newest title for the program is The Plague of Doves by Minnesota author Louise Erdrich.

Beginning on Monday, October 19th, Minnesotans will have free access to both the ebook and audiobook of Louise Erdrich’s Plague of Doves through the ongoing One Book One Minnesota project.

In its second iteration, Minnesota's statewide bookclub, One Book | One Minnesota, invites Minnesotans to read "A Good Time For the Truth," edited by Sun Yung Shin. Each of the book's sixteen authors contributes a chapter to share their perspective on life as a person of color in Minnesota.

Libraries invite Minnesotans to read together in statewide book club

One Book | One Minnesota is a new statewide book club that will invite Minnesotans of all ages to read and come together virtually to enjoy, reflect, and discuss. The inaugural title for the program is Because of Winn-Dixie by Minnesota author Kate DiCamilloReaders can check the book out from their library as circumstances allow, or access the book on Ebooks Minnesota.
