The third of the four-week online learning class offered by the American Library Association (ALA) entitled “Xtreme Bibliographic Searching for Interlibrary Loan & Reference,” focused on finding open access materials.
This January we kicked off a series of webinars presented by librarians from around the region. The series is grouped loosely around the topic of open educational resources.
With the cost of textbooks and classroom resources soaring, and school budgets unable to keep pace, it’s no surprise that school districts are looking for opportunities to build course content in-house. What is surprising is the scale of a new initiative in Minnesota responding to this trend.
You may have seen in recent news that on November 18th the Open Access Button was unveiled at the Berlin 11 Open Access Conference, an international conference for students advocating for Open Access.
