The six academic institutions that comprise Cooperating Libraries in Consortium (CLIC) have completed contracts to join the Consortium of MnPALS Libraries. The system migration will begin in March, and the institutions will go live on the MnPALS environment in Summer 2021. As part of this strategic transition, the CLIC consortium will officially dissolve on August 31, 2021.
On July 17, Lizzy Baus met with CLIC cataloging staff at the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. The morning consisted of a presentation on current and future developments of RDA and related standards. In the afternoon we put our new knowledge into practice and worked together to create a description of a book using the RDA Toolkit.
On April 23, Lizzy Baus attended and presented at the CLIC consortium's annual conference. This year the theme was Artificial Intelligence, Creative Design, and Libraries. All the speakers were well-received, and participants left the conference ready to think differently and explore new ideas.
Alexis Logsdon (Macalester College), Amy Mars (St. Catherine University), and Heather Tompkins (St. Catherine University) have published an article in College & Undergraduate Libraries. Macalester College's DeWitt Wallace Library generously provided the funding to make the article available via open access.
