OCLC releases update to WorldShare Collection Manager
On March 18, OCLC released the latest update to WorldShare Collection Manager. This release includes several new features and enhancements such as the ability to edit grouped OCNs for any WorldCat knowledge base title, a new “Close All Tabs” feature. a new option to clear the search box with a single click, and a redesigned search results page.

New OCLC report: The State of Digitization in US Public and State Libraries
A new OCLC report Advancing the National Digital Platform: The State of Digitization in US Public and State Libraries contains findings from a needs assessement and gap analysis of public library digitization activities. The findings in this report will inform planning around participation in the National Digital Platform (NDP), and also includes recommendations by project partners that could strengthen the public library role in the NDP.
OCLC implements Connexion client update
In July 2016, OCLC released Connexion client version 2.63 and have been urging customers to upgrade since then. As of March 1, 2017, OCLC will no longer support previous versions of this software. You can verify the version number of your instance of Connexion client through the Help menu > About OCLC Connexion client.
OCLC makes significant announcements about resource sharing
OCLC President and Chief Executive Officer makes announcements that will have significant impacts on some of the resource sharing community. OCLC has acquired Relais International. In addition, OCLC announces that it has launched the cloud-based product that will eventually replace ILLiad, Tipasa.
Plan early for spring conference attendance
Although we are beginning to feel the chill, it isn't too early to dream of spring. Mid-March is a busy time for conferences of interest to Resource Sharing staff. Two popular conferences will be held during the same week in 2017.

NDLA Annual Conference cataloging and linked data presentation slides available
It was a whirlwind trip to Dickinson, North Dakota this year to attend the North Dakota Library Association Annual Conference, September 22-23, 2016. We enjoyed seeing library staff at the Minitex booth and at the Minitex Cataloging & Metadata Update and Linked Data for the Uninitiated presentations. We hope to see you next year in Grand Forks!
