As a part of its advocacy for libraries during Minnesota's 2025 legislative session, the Minnesota Library Association circulated the resolution for consideration by library boards and other decision-making organizations.
Nearly every public library in Minnesota is a member of the Minnesota Library Reciprocal Borrowing, which allows all Minnesotans with a public library card to borrow materials from any member library. The Compact was first executed in 2001, and reaffirmed in 2015.
A planning effort to build a new library and community center that leaned heavily on public listening sessions and a mayor-appointed citizen task force bore fruit this November, as the citizens of Moorhead overwhelmingly approved the project at the ballot box.
