Minitex and the multicounty multitype library systems, alongside a team of academic and school librarians, are conducting a research study on information and technology literacy readiness among first-year post-secondary students in Minnesota.
ITEM/MLA, Minitex, and the Minnesota Libraries Learning Network are seeking up to two individuals to develop a professional learning course that provides guidance on key aspects of school library collection development, book challenges, and literacy instruction in Minnesota.
The ITEM Summer meeting was a celebration of legislative success, with per-pupil school library media funding and funding to the multicounty, multitype library systems to create the foundations for increased licensed library media specialists across Minnesota. The group also looked to the future to establish goals for the next round of legislative requests, and to continue to support strong and vibrant school libraries and School Library Media Specialists across Minnesota.
The Information and Technology Educators of Minnesota (ITEM) membership has voted to merge with and become a division of the Minnesota Library Association starting in 2022.
