Cambridge Public Library staff create connections with Ukraine
When the COVID-19 pandemic reduced contact between libraries and their patrons, Kirsten Vaughan and Sandy Buckingham took the opportunity to make a connection between the library in Cambridge and another in faraway Smila, Ukraine.

Washington County Library wins award for curbside pickup
On December 7, the Association of Minnesota Counties presented Washington County Library with a County Achievement Award for its pioneering curbside pickup program.

Minitex to stop quarantining outgoing materials
Beginning Monday, November 30, items leaving the Minitex office will no longer be held for three days before delivery. We will continue to mark all tubs with the date that they were packed, allowing individual libraries to make their own decisions about how long to quarantine these materials before handling.

Interlibrary loan COVID-19 changes
In Minnesota, we are working remotely and there have been enormous changes to our workflow in the last several weeks. In some cases, the interlibrary loan systems we use may be able to help us streamline our new processes. Here is some information about how various systems are handling specific details in our work.

Lake Superior Libraries Symposium 2020 Cancelled
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic currently affecting the world, we will not be holding the Lake Superior Libraries Symposium in June 2020. We are postponing this event until next year, June 2021, and we look forward to exploring our theme of Mapping Our Identity then.

Libraries respond: Local and national resources to follow
Every time I open up my email, see a newsletter, or check social media, I am heartened to see that libraries and library staff are reaching out, collaborating, and innovating to continue our services during the COVID-19 pandemic. I’ve shared some of those projects and resources and will continue to add more.
