About Shawnda Hines
Shawnda Hines is the Deputy Director of Communications in ALA’s Public Policy and Advocacy Office. For six years she has led ALA’s communications efforts, including media relations, to advance ALA’s federal policy agenda and library advocacy campaigns. Before that she recruited advocates and developed the local media outreach program as press officer with Bread for the World, a national grassroots anti-hunger advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C. Shawnda has conducted workshops and hosted events related to media advocacy, persuasive writing, and storytelling.
