I would like to take a moment to give you some thoughts on the retirement of Kathy Drozd.
For the last 21 years she was my supervisor and had oversight of the Minitex Delivery Unit. Kathy was supportive of some of my crazy ideas for the Delivery Unit (evening sorting staff, tracking labels, music in the sorting area), and wisely shot some of them down (drones). She also made it a point to have an open door to anyone who needed an ear to twist. I could not have asked for more from a supervisor. I will miss her humor and insight.
Becky Ringwelski (e-ring@umn.edu; 612-624-0375) now has oversight of the Minitex Delivery Unit.
Finally, now is the time of year that some Academic Libraries have a shut down for Spring Break. If your library will be closed, and you have not sent in a closing form, please let me know so I can update our list.
