The Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS) is offering several webinars in the coming weeks that you might like to attend.
On February 21, Minnesota's own Bobby Bothmann will lead a session on Cutter Numbers and Shelflisting for LC Classification. He will teach attendees how to construct a Cutter number, as well as when to use one and how to avoid reserved numbers.
On March 7, Library of Congress staff will discuss Library of Congress BIBFRAME Pilot: Phase Two. After listening to speakers Judith Cannan, Paul Frank, Kirk Hess, and Sally McCallum, "participants will have an understanding of the continuing initiatives and advancements taking place at the Library of Congress to use BIBFRAME as a means to describe and share library resources."
This BIBFRAME update session is the first in a series of webinars entitled From MARC to BIBFRAME: Linked Data on the Ground – Enhanced. This will build on the previous series From MARC to BIBFRAME: Linked Data on the Ground given in the fall of 2016. Future sessions will include discussion of Annotations, Performed Music, ArtFrame, and non-Roman and Cartographic Materials.
There are many more webinars to choose from, as well as other learning opportunities from ALCTS. You can view the list and register for sessions on the ALCTS Online Learning page.
