The Minnesota Digital Library is pleased to announce the addition of a new contributing organization to Minnesota Reflections - the Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa. The Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa provides hands-on environmental stewardship and service-learning opportunities to youth and young adults while accomplishing conservation, natural resource management, and emergency response work.
The archival collection of Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa contains diaries, documents, and photographs donated by the family of Civilian Conservation Corps member, Thorvald Stoen. Materials contributed to Minnesota Reflections include photographs and diaries documenting life in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1938 to 1939. Official certificates of service and a letter exchanged between Stoen and another Civilian Conservation Corps member are also included in the collection.
