The online interface now features faster searches, the ability to download high resolution images, and the ability to view images in full screen. There is also a new viewer for displaying and searching the full text of multiple page documents (such as books, programs, catalogs, etc.).
The staff of the Minnesota Digital Library is pleased to announce the rollout of several important updates to the Minnesota Reflections website. The online interface now features faster searches, the ability to download high resolution images, and the ability to view images in full screen. There is also a new viewer for displaying and searching the full text of multiple page documents (such as books, programs, catalogs, etc.). Other enhancements include the ability to seamlessly stream all media in Minnesota Reflections. Users no longer have to wait to download files or cache media on their computer (thereby saving space on their devices). All audio and video files now feature closed captioning. The updated website is also mobile friendly - it can be effectively used on phones and tablets.
Students and teachers will appreciate our new citation tool. All primary source materials can be used and cited with confidence. We currently offer Chicago, MLA, and the Wikipedia formats (other citation formats can be easily added if need be). Other user-oriented enhancements include new geographic location mapping. Content can be located on an interactive map which geolocates other related content in close geographic proximity. Searching is also more efficient with the auto-complete function.
We believe these updates and enhancements will create better searching and browsing capabilities as well as help showcase our collections via different access points.
