To those who know me well, it may come as no surprise that I'm not a fan of making any personal resolutions for the New Year.

Even so, I do understand the value it may hold.  And some resolutions do go a little further afield than the typical "get healthier," "stop smoking," and "watch less tv."

In fact, a few ideas that jumped out at me from a Lifehack list, 50 New Year's Resolution Ideas And How To Achieve Each Of Them, include:

  • #4 Improve your concentration and mental skills
  • #10 Reduce stress
  • #12 Get more quality sleep
  • #32 Go see your doctor more often
  • #33 Reinvent yourself
  • #36 Turn your hobby into a career
  • #47 Start expressing yourself artistically

Now, I'm not saying I'm resolved to do any of these things necessarily, but I definitely found these a little more inspiring.  Although, #10 and #12 especially sound quite appealing.  #4, too, has drawn me in as I've got a number of self-imposed, ELM-related challenges for the New Year that I'm quite excited about.  In the coming months I will certainly share outcomes from those challenges.

Do you make New Year's resolutions?  If so, do you have any that are work-related or ELM-related?  Share in the comments below.

Happy New Year, friends!
