In the October 2015 issue of College & Research Libraries News, librarians Seth Kershner (Northwestern Connecticut Community College) and Michael Mannheim (American International College) wrote A Guide to Vietnam War Resources: Government Documents, Oral Histories, Antiwar Movements. In that guide, Kershner and Mannheim remind us that earlier this year on April 30, 2015 the 40th Anniversary of the fall of Saigon to North Vietnamese troops occurred. That event, in 1975, is recognized as the end to U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. Given that this is a notable anniversary year, there will likely be new faculty and student research projects beginning and a renewed public interest in the events of the war.
Kershner and Mannheim note that though there is already a wealth of resources on the Vietnam War widely available, their guide seeks to highlight government sources, oral histories, and materials on the antiwar movement. Below is a brief listing of some of the resources included in their guide. However, to see all resources as well as the descriptions, read the full article in C&RL News.
