The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Digital Metadata Librarian. This position is situated within the Collection Management & Services department of St. Thomas Libraries and reports to the Associate Director for Collection Management & Services.

As part of a team of cataloging and metadata staff, and e-resources staff, the Digital Metadata Librarian:

  • Creates, reviews, and advises others on metadata for objects in digital format
  • Creates metadata for purchased electronic resources, digital archival materials, and UST publications in a variety of systems, such as Alma, ContentDM, and Digital Commons (UST Research Online)
  • Ensures accurate access to library research collection electronic resources via the ProQuest Knowledge Base and Primo Central Index
  • Performs quality control for metadata created by other library staff or University staff in library systems such as Alma, ContentDM, and Digital Commons
  • Performs copy, upgrade, and original cataloging primarily for digital materials, but also for materials in all formats, including multimedia and print, and
  • Creates and maintains metadata standards for a variety of schema in library systems, such as Alma, ContentDM, and Digital Commons.
