With its addition of more than 850,000 movies, CDs and video games from a media company in California, Michigan State University’s Rovi Media Collection has become the largest U.S. digital collection. The collection is rich in 1980’s through current media for faculty and student research. Clifford Haka, MSU Libraries director states that the best part of the collection are the video games as research libraries have not previously concentrated on collecting them. While the majority of the items in the collection have been available in the commercial sector this is the first time such an expansive collection has been made available for educational purposes.
