The Libraries at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University (CSB/SJU) invite applications for the full-time, benefit-eligible position of Associate Director for Learning and Research. The Associate Director for Learning and Research is a professional librarian responsible for patron services in support of inquiry and information literacy, including direct supervision of instruction librarians. The Associate Director will develop, articulate, and implement library goals for learning and research services as part of overall library strategic planning. This librarian works closely with the Director of Libraries and collaborates with other library and institutional administrative areas to help create a user- centered information environment that best supports teaching and learning at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University. This includes the planning, implementation, assessment, and continuous improvement of research support and liaison services, and direction for instructional programs in coordination with the Information Literacy Librarian. The Associate Director works directly with faculty and students to support scholarly and creative initiatives, and provides research consultation and other library liaison services to faculty, students, and staff in assigned departments. In addition, the Associate Director shares responsibility for delivering library instruction for the general education program and for supporting the All College Thesis.
The CSB/SJU Libraries are a single library organization supporting the joint academic efforts of our two colleges. We strive to create an inclusive environment that empowers collaboration, creativity, and scholarship while supporting student learning, faculty research, and the intellectual curiosity of our academic community. At SJU, we recently finished a $25 million renovation and Learning Commons addition to the Alcuin Library. At CSB, a renovation of the Clemens Library is planned for 2019.
